Representatives of Ministry of Mining and Energy Discuss Potential Investments in Solar Energy with US Company UGTR

At the meeting, there was talk about the need for Serbia to build new energy capacities which use RES, the possibilities of strategic partnerships of these companies with Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), as well as an exchange of experiences and technologies, it is said on the website of the ministry.
Jovanka Atanackovic, the state secretary at the ministry, and the deputy ministers Natalija Lukovic and Zoran Ilic said at the meeting that, by adopting a new legal framework, especially the Law on the Use of RES, Serbia had created a basis for the increase of the share of renewable sources in its energy mix and that the plan was to have much more than 40% of energy produced from RES by 2040. They also said that it was a part of the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan Until 2030, with a Vision Until 2050, which, along with the energy development strategy, is the most important document in the field of energy.
The representatives of said companies presented the technological achievements in the field of power generation through the use of renewable energy sources, some of the more significant investments in the world and propositions for cooperation on potential solar energy projects in Serbia.
