In increase in VAT on computers and hotel services - Amendments to several tax laws adopted

The Parliament of Serbia yesterday adopted amendments to a set of tax laws, which should secure larger budget revenues in 2011.

The laws in question are the Property Tax Law, the Value Added Tax (VAT) Law, the Law on Use, Keeping and Carrying of Goods, and the Excise Tax Law.

The Parliament also adopted several amendments to the Property Tax Law that concern tax incentives.

When it comes to the Excise Tax Law, the specific excise tax on cigarettes is increased from 17.2 to 26 dinars per pack.

Amendments to the VAT Law envisage an increase in the tax rate on citrus fruits from 8 to 18%, while the tax rate on computers and hotel services will remain the same as before.

The Parliament also adopted amendments to the Law on Budget System.
