DINKIC: Starting price for Telekom - EUR 1.4 billion

The Government of Serbia should tomorrow determine the minimum starting price for sale of 51% of Telekom Srbija in amount of EUR 1.4 billion, Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic stated.

- We have already talked about that informally, but this now will be the official decision of the Government and all participants in the process will be informed on that decision - Dinkic explained for the web portal Euractiv (www.euractiv.rs) and Beta agency.

He said he expected higher price than the minimum one to be offered on the tender for Telekom.

- We expect binding offers to be made by several companies and the public auction to be held in front of TV cameras. It should be an interesting bidding and we expect to get a good price that will suit the country, employees and former employees of Telekom and Posta, as well as a good price for the citizens' free shares - he said.

The tender for sale of Telekom was announced on October 20, 2010. The tender documentation has been bought by seven companies, while the deadline for submission of binding offers expires on February 21, 2011.
