The rehabilitation of the heating plant is realized within the Project “Rehabilitation of District Heating Systems in Serbia – Phase V”, financed by the German government and KfW Development Bank, on which a trilateral agreement was signed in mid-May.
Part of this Project is the supply of goods and construction works for the rehabilitation of the district heating plant (boiler house) Cerak in Belgrade, which operates the three hot water boilers VK1 (58MW), VK2 (58 MW) and VK3 (116 MW).
The scope of this rehabilitation project comprises of the following:
– Combustion air preheaters and economizer including flue gas ducts, fan and recirculation system;
– Mechanical equipment and auxiliaries (i.e. vacuum Oxygen removal system for feed water deaeration, chemical water treatment plant, expansion vessels, pipework, pumps, valves, noise protection / reduction measures and a fire and gas detection system);
– Electrical equipment (transformer station 6/0.4 kV (2 x 2000 kVA), cables, grounding
system, variable frequency drivers, lighting systems inside and outside of the BH building);
– Reconstruction of the control room incl. new SCADA system and measuring, regulating
and control systems;
– Rehabilitation and extension of the BH architecture, construction of an internal access road;
– Dismantling and disposal of old equipment.
The Commencement of the Works is expected in November 2022, construction works can start in April 2023 and the Provisional Acceptance is expected in October 2023.
Bids may be sent by August 16, and the details can be found HERE.
Let us remind that the PE Beogradske Elektrane (Belgrade Power Plants) announced in May that the proceeds from the loan of the German KfW bank would be put into a full reconstruction and modernization of the heating plant Cerak, whose equipment is nearly 40 years old. EUR 14 million will be spent on the reconstruction, of which EUR 11 million from the loan and up to EUR 3 million from the funds of Beogradske Elektrane.
– The realization of the project will ensure more reliable operations of the heating plant, a more energy efficient management of the system and lead to considerable savings. The environmental contribution is significant as well, because carbon-dioxide emissions will be reduced. The conditions for the expansion of capacities and the connection of new facilities will be created – they said at Beogradske Elektrane.
