At the company HBIS Serbia, there are preparations to shut down the blast furnace no. 1. The reason is the global situation in the market, which entails a reduced demand for steel.

– We have adapted our operations to the current situation, and when all the market conditions are met, the blast furnace will be put into operation again – says the announcement of the Chinese company, as reported by RTS.

The Smederevo steel mill has a total of two blast furnaces.
