Self-employment and "green" technologies - Main business trends for year 2011

- Formation of micro-enterprises, investment in "green" technologies, and accelerated pace of changes in all market segments are the main global trends for year 2011 - it was presented at the yesterday's 5th session of the Assembly of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.

In his statement for eKapija, Nebojsa Caric, the Executive Director of Adizes Business Consuting, stated that self-employment represented a big trend in highly-developed countries such as Russia, China, and the EU countries.

- Micro-entrepreneurs form strategic alliances on both regional and international level and, thus, try to provide investments for their projects – said Caric.

Caric pointed out that the investing in "green" economy and eco-economy was a trend that would be continued in the future, thanks to the financial support of global economic institutions.

- Lack of awareness of global trends is a big problem for Serbia, as well as a shortage of quality projects – Nebojsa Caric told eKapija and added that "our country has missed the chance to apply for investments worth between 400 and 500 million euros".

Dr Milan Jankovic, the President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, announced for eKapija that small and mid-sized enterprises in Serbia would be mainly investing in production and renovation of old machines in 2011.

- Small and micro enterprises, with only one employee, represent 17% of all enterprises in Serbia. They should be supported by banks and funds and local self-government - said Jankovic and emphasized that the development of a country depends on the development of local self-government.
