The Temerin cloverleaf interchange, part of the bypass around Novi Sad, on E-75 highway, of which construction cost 40 million euros, was opened today for traffic.

This road was opened by Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic and Prime Minister of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic.

The length of the section of E-75 highway that was opened for traffic today is 8.5 km, while the length of the service junctions is 15 km.

As the representatives of Energoprojekt Niskogradnja and Interkop announced, the complete bypass around Novi Sad, which also includes the construction of the Sever cloverleaf interchange and the reconstruction of the Zrenjanin cloverleaf interchange, should be finished prior to May 2011.

Contractors said that the works on the Zrenjanin cloverleaf interchange were difficult because it was fully open for traffic and that the works on relocation of the lane underneath the Zrenjanin bridge were underway as well.

Putevi Srbije CEO Zoran Drobnjak said that another two kilometers of road on the Temerin cloverleaf interchange were left to be built because a problem occurred with the existing oil pipeline and gas pipeline, for the relocation of which additional 15 million euros were needed.

Minister Mrkonjic said that the construction of E-75 highway would be finished on time thanks to the building companies that were participating in its construction and working at full steam.
