- Jaffa Crvenka plans to produce over 11,000 tons of confectioneries next year and generate income of about 35 million euros - Director General Ratko Kupresak announced today.
As he said, that will only be a reflection of the projected growth of 25% in 2011.
Jaffa will end this year with the income of somewhat less than 30 million euros, while nearly 10,000 tons of products will be delivered to domestic and foreign markets.
Crvenka-based confectioner exports 35-40% of the production. It mainly exports products to the countries of former Yugoslavia, as well as to the European Union. In that way, as Kupresak told eKapija, Jaffa is present in large market chains such as Spar and Billa.
Kupresak stated that Jaffa had invested over 30 million euros in the new factory, storage space and production lines since 2006.
Speaking of the situation in the confectioner industry of Serbia, Kupresak said that a 10-12% drop was expected in 2010 as a consequence of "a drastic decrease in the purchasing power of the population, primarily owing to the exchange rate".
He said that the reduction of consumption of confectioneries was also a consequence of citizens' fear of the crisis.
However, according to the words of Kupresak, all that has not affected Jaffa much because the company improved the sales strategy in early 2010, the results of which can be seen now.
In October and November 2010, Jaffa registered over 20% larger sales than in the same period last year, while the sales growth in November amounted to 29%. The biggest growth was registered in the category of waffle products – 71%.
