UniCredit opens over 900 offices in Eastern Europe

UniCredit intends to open over 900 offices in Eastern Europe within next five years because the region shows good signs of recovery.

UniCredit plans to open 300 offices in Turkey, the same as in Romania, 120 in Hungary, and 180 in other countries, including Bulgaria, Serbia and Russia.

- Eastern Europe is the key factor for the profitability of UniCredit - said Federico Ghizzoni, the Executive Director of UniCredit Bank.

UniCredit is the leading Italian bank and one of the largest banks in Europe, with over 40 million clients in 22 countries. The credit department of the bank turned a net profit of 1.7 billion euros in 2009.
