Company Metalko started research of thermal springs in Dubalj - €10m needed for construction of sanatorium

Company Metalko from Badovinci, with the partners from Netherlands and Israel, has started research and rehabilitation of thermal springs in Mačva’s village Dubalj, in which about €300,000 will be invested. The owner of Metalko, Slobodan Delić, said that, following the rehabilitation and insulation of thermal spring, the surface water would be about 75 degrees and that it would be used for commercial purposes. Delić stated that "Metalko" planned to invest €10m in construction of sanatorium, sports-recreation center, greenhouse and fishpond along with his partners. The surface occupied by greenhouses will be 2 ha big and the spring water will be first used for heating of that surface and then the other facilities, until it ends the exploitation cycle in the artificial fishpond.

The Mačva region is on the thermal lake. There are springs in Dubalj, Bogatić, Metković and Belotić. Two borings in Bogatić have the highest surface water temperature - 75 and 78 degrees, the temperature in Metković amounts to 63 degrees, 34 degrees in Belotić, whereas the temperatures of surface water at two springs in Dubalj amount to 49 and 50 degrees. The springs are not used for commercial purposes, so that the farmers from Mačva use this water to wash their sheep and when they slaughter pigs. The space around spring in Bogatić is partially organized and it is used for winter outdoor bathing, whereas people in Dubalj tried to use hot water to heat the greenhouse for floower production.
