The Government of Serbia has adopted the amended Decision on the temporary limiting of the export of basic foodstuffs essential to the populace, whereby quantitative restriction of exports on a monthly level were implemented for certain agri-food products.

– The supply of flour and wheat in the local market is good and a free export of flour cannot jeopardize the supply of the local market, and it enables the unloading of silos for the reception of the new yields ahead of the harvest and the preservation of the traditional markets, considering that Serbia is a traditional exporter of flour to the markets of the countries of the region – it is pointed out in the government’s press release.

As said, considering the sufficient quantities of flour and wheat, the free export of flour that is proposed according to the government’s decision will have a multiple positive economic impact on the local market, lead to a greater deployment of the local manufacturing capacities and enable mills to accumulate financial funds necessary for the purchase of new harvest yields.
