CEFTA Trade Portal launched

On the occasion of the 2010 CEFTA Week in Belgrade, eight countries that signed the CEFTA Agreement in 2006 have launched CEFTA Trade Portal, Fena quotes.
The portal has been launched with the support of the German Organization for Technical Assistance (GTZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The new online trade portal contains all relevant and practical information for trade with the countries signers of the CEFTA 2006 Free Trade Agreement.
The trade subjects that import and/or export goods in each CEFTA country must respect certain number of important rules and regulations concerned with duties, licenses, procedures of sanitarian, phytosanitarian and veterinarian control, technical and other requests.
The aim of the portal is to shorten the time and reduce the expenses incurred by companies in collecting such information, as well as to increase the transparency of trade procedures.
Designed as a unique spot for access to all relevant information of all eight CEFTA countries, the portal also provides an explanation for each phase of trade procedures.
The portal will increase the transparency of regulations and formalities related to the trade within the region. Therefore, its purpose is make the regional trade easier by revoking non-customs barriers.
The portal will not only be at the service of private sector, but also at the service of public administration in the CEFTA countries so they could get familiar with all formalities, regulations and rules in the trade in the whole region.
The portal should contribute to the strengthening of competition, promotion of foreign investment and cooperation in the region.
New online tool named CEFTA Trade Portal can be accessed on the web address http://www.ceftatradeportal.com.
