EFT announced construction of steam power plant near Doboj

The company for electricity trading Energy Financing Team (EFT) announced that the Government of Republic of Srpska had accepted the initiative of that company for construction of steam power plant of capacity of 250 MW near the lignite mine Stanari. According to the announcement of EFT, the needed investments for construction of Steam Power Plant, which would be located near Doboj, are estimated to €230m – €250m, whereas the required means for expansion of the capacity of the mine are estimated to about €70m. The manager of EFT Group, James Nigh, stated that the construction of steam power plant could start already at the beginning of the year 2007. Nigh pointed out that the construction of Steam Power Plant Stanari, which would cover one fourth of the total production of electric power in RS, would strengthen EFT’s position of the leading electricity trader in the region of Southeast Europe.
