Mobile App HistoricAR Presented – Through Camera’s Eye to Augmented Reality of Cultural Highlights

At the Ceremonial Hall of the City Assembly of Belgrade – Old Palace, an innovative project called HistoricAR was presented. The project was realized by the PE Belgrade Fortress with funds from the budget of the City of Belgrade.

HistoricAR is the name of an innovative mobile app which uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality. It will be available on iOS (Apple/iPhone) and Android devices and it is very simple to use. The app has the task of using the medium of a mobile camera to recognize a facility or an object of cultural and historical importance at the Belgrade Fortress and the Kalemegdan park and display the accompanying text describing the cultural highlight, with augmented scenes with a graphic representation in a real physical environment.

In addition to Serbian, the app is available in other four languages and will certainly contribute to a new experience and impression of the tourists and visitors, the PE Belgrade Fortress announced.

This is one of the first AI projects that was trained on the super computer for artificial intelligence in Kregujevac by the local startup NewCo.

HistoricAR will be available to users from April 16, 2022, which marks the beginning of the “Days of Belgrade” event.
