Victoria Group, a member of which is Victoria Oil, one of Serbia's largest exporters, has selected Sid as the first location for the construction of a biomass power plant.

As Sid Mayor Natasa Cvjetkovic explained for eKapija, the works are underway, the terrain has been prepared, and the local self-government has already provided the building permit and other necessary permits.

For start, this power plant will employ about 20 people. According to Ms. Cvjetkovic, this investment is not that significant for the number of people that will get jobs, but for the number of partners, primarily farmers from that region who will be supplying biomass.

After Sid, as the Mayor explains, new biomass power plants are planned to be built in Becej and Sabac.

As Nikola Vujacic, CEO of the holding, announced earlier, Victoria Group has started a significant investment cycle. According to his words, an investment of 40 million euros is planned to be made in the production of electric energy from renewable sources, while about 25 million euros should be invested in the factory of soybean protein concentrates in Becej.
