After six months of the biggest event on the plant, Expo 2020 Dubai, where 192 countries presented their biggest minds and innovations of today and which was visited by more than 23 million visitors from the whole world, Expo 2020 Dubai is bringing down the curtain today.

At its biggest presentation at any world expo so far, Serbia took part with the topic of “Serbia Creates Ideas – Inspired by the Past, We Shape the Future”. At the architecturally eye-catching and fully digitized Serbia Pavilion on 2,000 m2, Serbia hosted over a million and two hundred visitors, more than 10,000 business contacts were made, and numerous innovations that made Serbia the topic of a large number of international and local media were presented.

– Expo Dubai raised the value of the culture, connected the past and the future, tradition and technology, and for us it was an opportunity to present those connections from our angle, since Serbia, in its economic and creative bloom, is oriented toward progress, without forgetting its roots and heritage. Taking part in the Expo enabled us not just to present our potentials, develop our business networks and improve the image of our country, but also to work on further strengthening the partnership between Serbia and the UAE – pointed out Tatjana Matic, the commissioner general of Serbia for Expo 2020 Dubai and the country’s minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications, the announcement says.

She also announced that the state of Serbia was already preparing for the next presentation at the 2025 World Exposition, to be held in Osaka, Japan, but also that Belgrade had applied to host the specialized 2027 Expo.

Over 1,200 companies from Serbia presented in Dubai

Within the business program realized by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Development Agency of Serbia, during the nine thematic weeks in Dubai, over 1,200 companies from Serbia presented themselves. They made over 10,000 business contacts with potential partners from over 100 countries of the world.
