Ministry of Internal Affairs Forms Environmental Police

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia announced today that it had formed the Unit for the Suppression of Environmental Crime and Environmental Protection, whose primary task would be to fight against those who destroy and pollute the nature and the environment.

Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that an increase in environmental crime was being recorded worldwide and that the consequence was the destruction of the entire nature, the loss of biodiversity and natural resources, and emphasized that it was up to Serbia to do everything in its power to protect its rivers, mountains and nature.
