Customs Administration of Serbia Organizes First Electronic Auction of Permanently Confiscated Goods – Omega Speedmaster Watch Sold for RSD 1.35 Million

Among the products that opened the first electronic auction organized by the Customs Administration of Serbia were expensive watches of Hublot and Omega brands, of which an Omega Speedmaster watch, whose initial price was RSD 773,000, sold for RSD 1,355,000, and there were 11 bidders.

The Customs Administration yesterday held the first e-auction of permanently confiscated goods, where 20 items were offered, and there were 63 bidders, including companies and citizens.

Interested buyers were obliged to pay a deposit amounting to 30% of the initial price of the product.

The bidding was anonymous, which, as the auctioneer, Bozidar Djuric, told the press, “facilitated the regularity of the procedure”.

The director of the Customs Administration of Serbia, Branko Radujko, pointed out that the e-auction of confiscated goods had been organized so that it was impossible for the bidders to “make agreements or in any way manipulate the bids”.

– That is why we got prices that are so much bigger than the initial offers – Radujko believes.

In order for an item to be auctioned, at least three deposits need to be paid for it.

Most bids were made for lost luggage, and there were 12 bids for an iPhone.

– The prices of some goods even doubled during the auction, which was not so frequent previously, so we believe that, from now, more money will be paid to the budget from these auctions – Radujko said.

– It is all fully transparent. For some items, there were 12 registered bidders, for others, seven, but over 500 citizens followed the auction live – he said.
