The city of Valjevo will next year offer investors an industrial zone at 14.6 ha, with complete infrastructure, in the settlement of Goric. The city on the Kolubara river has also prepared a land on Divcibare mountain, a famous tourist destination in the vicinity of Valjevo, for those who would like to invest in tourist contents.
- Since we want to keep working on the development of small and mid-sized enterprises, we will put effort in equipping the industrial zone in Valjevo with infrastructure as soon as possible. We will apply for the funds of the National Investment Plan for preparation of the purpose plan for the industrial zone – Tijana Todorovic, the Head of the Department for Local Development and Economy, told eKapija.
Todorovic points out that the city of Valjevo should prepare certain benefits for investors by the end of the year, primarily for the companies interested in the industrial zone.
- The city has become the owner of Crni Vrh ski center. In the vicinity of the center of Divcibare, the city offers investors a location for which access roads are being built now – says Todorovic.
The ski track in the central part of Maljen mountain is about 1,000 meters long, while the two-seat ski lift can transport between 900 and 1,500 skiers per hour.
People at the Department for Local Development and Economy say that the construction of a transfer station for municipal waste is important for development of the city.
The Czech Government has granted EUR 450,000 to the city of Valjevo for the preparation of the feasibility study, preliminary and main project and the procurement of part of equipment for the transfer station. The city of Valjevo is obliged to prepare the land for the future transfer station, as well as to equip it with infrastructure prior to April 2011. The plan of activities has also been prepared for the implementation of this project over the next two years.
Valjevo also plans to build Regional landfill Kalenic, which will be used by 11 cities and municipalities - Valjevo, Ub, Lajkovac, Ljig, Mionica, Osecina, Vladimirci, Koceljeva, Barajevo, Lazarevac and Obrenovac. They will cost about 20 million euros. The plan is that the landfill be built on the devastated land of the Kolubara strip mines.
