International Tourism Fair Opens at Belgrade Fairgrounds

The International Tourism Fair opened yesterday at the Belgrade Fair under the slogan “Between Mountains and Seas” and will last until March 27.

Within the 43rd International Tourism Fair, the 17th International Fair Hotel and Catering equipment HORECA-EQUIPMENT and the 12th International Wine Fair BEOWINE (March 25-26) will be held.

The minister of trade, tourism and telecommunications of Serbia, Tatjana Matic, said at the opening of these shows that Serbia would “remain an attractive point on the global tourism map” and added that it was her honor that, during the fair, Belgrade would host ministers of numerous countries, which would contribute to a stronger tourism cooperation.

She said that the foreign exchange revenues from tourism in Serbia in 2021 amounted to 1.5 billion, breaking the 2019 record.

Tourism, according to the minister, can survive as an adaptable industry despite the unfavorable events in the world and the war in Ukraine, although it will be affected.

– Given that it managed to survive the Covid-19 period, I believe that we will be able to continue the growing trend in the difficult conditions this year as well – Matic said.

She emphasized the importance of regional connecting of countries in the field of tourism and said that it was the only way to overcome the challenges and the difficult times.

Over 40 local and foreign tour operators will take part in the international tourism fair, and 13 countries will present themselves: Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Montenegro, Tunisia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Maldives, and exhibitors from Albania, Croatia and Slovenia will present themselves individually.

For the first time, new destinations will be presented at the Tourism Fair – Malaysia and Sao Tome and Principe.

The fair is open from 10 AM to 7 PM, and on March 27, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

The price of a single ticket is RSD 400, and group tickets cost RSD 300.
