Most Modern Production Facility of Wienerberger Opens in Kanjiza – Company’s Biggest Investment Worth EUR 19 Million

Representatives of Wienerberger, one of the world leaders in the production and sale of construction materials and infrastructure solutions, officially opened the most modern production facility in Kanjiza in the presence of officials and professionals.

– Thanks to a capital investment worth EUR 19 million in the upgrade of all business segments, Wienerberger will increase its market activities and upgrade the key parameters of its business – the company said.

According to Ivan Vujisic, a director and member of the management board at Wienerberger, the modernization of the new production facility, which will provide even better production conditions and opportunities for a further development for the highly qualified workforce, is part of the company’s growth strategy.

– With the height of this investment, Wienerberger once again confirms its desire for investments which will raise the operations to another level and ensure the leading position in the next few decades, both in our market and in foreign markets. Since the moment of the successful privatization of the factory in Kanjiza, more than EUR 64 million has been invested. With the modernization of each part of the production and world-class quality control, the investments aim to enable us to step into this year at an apparently higher level in each segment of the offer.

The investment entailed the modernization of the fully new facility with all the machines necessary for the production of the best, most modern roof tiles in the European market. The company says that an important aspect of this investment is its sustainability, whereby the factory meets the highest standards of efficiency and environmental impact, as confirmed by the Eco tag that the products of this company have been carrying for years now.

– Wienerberger operates in line with the interest of the wider social community, in a modern and ecological way, as confirmed by the “Cuvarkuca” watermark of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, which guarantees that the products were made in a natural and ecological way – stated Miroslav Lutovac, the adviser to the president of the CCIS.

Last year was the most successful one for Wienerberger globally, with revenues of nearly EUR 4 billion, and historically the best for Wienerberger in Serbia.

– The expansion of Wienerberger, a leading company in the construction industry, proves that Serbia is a very interesting location for investments and that, as such, it is of great importance for the whole region. The Austrian-Serbian cooperation is especially strong in economy and trade, as shown by the presence of over 450 Austrian companies in Serbia – emphasized Erika Teoman-Brenner, the commercial counsellor at the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade.

By continuously investing in the development of its business operations, Wienerberger has been generating a strong value for the local economies and communities it operates in for years.

– The Municipality of Kanjiza is very rich with natural resources, which need to be used pro-actively, with persistence and courage, relying on technical innovations and corporate responsibility. The factory has existed for over a century now in our town and it has been something that our fellow citizens and their families have been able to rely on all this time.
