Serbia and BiH Strengthening Cooperation in Rail Transport – Aiming to Reduce Delays at Brasina-Zvornik Crossing

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has determined the proposition of the bases and the appointment of delegations for carrying out the negotiations for the purpose of signing the agreement with the Government of Serbia on the determining of the border procedure for the rail border crossing Brasina-Zvornik.


The aim of signing this agreement is to simplify the border procedures and reduce the delays for trains at the rail crossing in order to increase the competitiveness of rail services, it was announced following the session of the Council of Ministers.

This would establish a simple and functional system entailing reduced rail traffic control times at the border railroad Brasina-Zvornik, especially considering that train delays are one of the biggest generators of the costs of the operations of rail companies in Serbia and BiH.

The proposition will be forwarded to the Presidency of BiH for further processing, and the minister of communications and transport at the Council of Ministers is proposed as the signee.
