Novosti: State Energy Companies Refuse Cooperation with Competent Ministry

The four biggest energy companies in Serbia do not want to communicate with the Ministry of Mining and Energy or take part in the working groups organized by the ministry, and following EPS, EMS and the Energy Agency of Serbia, the company Srbijagas has also announced that it is not able to take part in those activities, Vecernje Novosti writes in today’s issue.

According to the daily’s findings, the national gas company has canceled its participation in the meeting of the Working Group for the preparation of an integrated national energy and climate plan of Serbia for 2021-2030, with a vision until 2050, which is scheduled for today.

Srbijagas says in its explanation that the reason for their representatives’ not attending the meeting is the large number of obligations taken.

They also say that “the same pertains to the meetings of the working group in the upcoming period”.

According to Vecernje Novosti, the open conflict between minister Zorana Mihajlovic and the heads of the energy companies dates back to the beginning of her new mandate in this field.

“The War with EPS”, as they call it, started even before the quick succession of incidents at the Thermal Power Plant “Nikola Tesla” in Obrenovac this winter, because the ministry had refused to issue the permits for the excavation of coal at the new mines in Kolubara.
