The Investment Directory Designed for Investors from the Diaspora was Presented

Minister for Diaspora, Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic presented the first multimedia catalog with 193 investment projects for the investors from the Diaspora and other investors.

Mr Sreckovic said at a Press Conference in the Serbian Government that these projects are collected from 68 municipalities and cities, and were mostly in the field of tourism, of Industrial Zones, infrastructure and ecology.

According to him, the Diaspora Ministry will present a catalog in all the major centers of Serbian Diaspora, and will distribute to addresses of more than 5,000 business people of Serbian descent.

Since 2000. until today, the diaspora is directly invested $ 550 million into the Serbian economy and employed about 25,000 people. Message of the State to the investors is that Serbia is changing for the better, but with no investments from abroad there is no development of the country, said Srećković and reminded that according to World Bank analysis of the 2009th the Serbian Diaspora in Serbia sent 5.5 billion USD.

Diaspora Minister pointed out that among the priority objectives of economic policy of the Serbian Government will be to attract foreign investments, amounting to 4 to 5 billion USD per year.

To start a new cycle of economic growth of 5 to 8% annually it is necessary that each year the investments growth of at least ten percent, said Srećković and urged the municipalities and cities that have not submitted projects until now, to do so.

The catalog contains all the relevant information about the municipalities and cities that participated in the project, and all details will be published on the website of the Ministry of Diaspora.
