Business Forum Serbia-Slovenia Opportunity for New Jobs

The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, in cooperation with the Slovenian Institute for Strategic Solutions, is organizing the business forum “Economic Integration of the Western Balkans – Economic Relations of Serbia and Slovenia”, which will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at Hotel Crowne Plaza Belgrade.

The aim of this gathering is to cast light on the key issues and initiatives of economic cooperation in the region, with a special focus on the economic cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia, it is said on the website of the CCIS.

The data show that over 4,000 companies take part in the economic cooperation between Serbia and Slovenia.

– In the past ten years, that cooperation has doubled in terms of the total value it creates. In the past three years, it has reached nearly EUR 1.5 billion, with a perspective of further growth – says Nikola Papak, the director of the Slovenian Office of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

In addition to the trade of goods and services, the total mutual investments are growing as well.

– In the past several years, Serbian companies have invested over half a billion euros in Slovenia. On the other hand, Slovenian companies have invested over EUR 1 billion in our country in the past ten years – Papak says.

Around 2,000 companies owned by Serbian companies and citizens are registered in Slovenia. In addition to big business systems, in the past years, an increasing number of small and medium companies from Serbia has decided to launch a business in Slovenia, because they recognize this country as a desirable business and investment destination and a step toward the further penetration of the EU market, it is added.
