Kraljevo-based Amiga has signed an agreement in Gabon for the job worth 12 million euros. Workers from Serbia will be hired to cover a sports stadium with 20,000 seats. The new stadium is being built for the African Cup of Nations, which is in Africa what the European Football Championship is in Europe. The African Nations Cup will be held in Gabon in 2012.

Because of that project and the potential of the African market, Amiga has opened its branch office in Gabon, and Ivan Tlacinac, the Deputy Director, expects to sign contracts for jobs in other African countries such as Equatorial Guinea, Kongo, Angola, Algeria...

- We are familiar with the African market from before. We used to export our products to Angola (semaphore poles and portals) and Uganda (telecommunication poles). We have taken one step further in this job - we will also carry out the works on installation in Gabon. Of total of about 50 workers who I expect to be hired, 30 will be from Serbia, while the rest will be local manpower. Complete structure (about 1,500 tons) will be produced in Kraljevo, followed by a trial installation, and then everything will be disassembled and packed into containers that will be dispatched to Gabon by trucks, ship and rail - Tlacinac explained.

About 80 containers loaded with products and equipment made by Amiga will be dispatched to that country.

Kraljevo-based Amiga was visited this month by Rene N` Demezo Obiang, the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sport and Entertainment of Gabon, with his associates - the Chairman of the 2012 CAN Organizational Committee and the director of all stadiums, as well as the representatives of French Socotec company, which is put in charge of the quality control. Both groups have given very positive opinions about the progress of the project and the quality of the completed works.

According to Tlacinac, the primary goals of Amiga in the following period concern the company's development in three directions: improvement of operations in Serbia, conquering of new foreign markets, and employment of new workers.

In accordance with that, an agreement has recently been signed with the Ministry of Economy on employment incentives for hiring 85 workers.

- They will be working on a semiautomatic line for sand blasting and painting of metal structures. The new line is situated in Kraljevo in our production unit and it has been put in trial operation. Sand blasting with steel shot results in the quality of up to SA3. That is a process that is required for cleaning the materials from corrosion before the surface protection. The Rosler line consists of three parts - for drying materials, for sand blasting with steel shot, and for painting the structure.

Amiga has invested about 1.5 million euros in the construction of a hall at 1,200 square meters and the procurement of the line made in Germany.

Amiga currently employs 450 workers in Kraljevo, Belgrade and Gabon.

They are engaged in several projects in Serbia, while eKapija's interlocutor mentioned some of them - Vindia farm in Lajkovac at about 20,000 square meters, Krst ski lift on Kopaonik mountain, construction of cable distribution system and relocation of long-distance power line for the needs of new ski lifts and artificial snow, reconstruction of NIS gas stations (Kladovo, Kragujevac, Novi Sad, Belgrade), erecting of a steel structure for the new production hall at Fiat in Kragujevac where about 2,500 tons of steel will be produced, transported and assembled, and other projects.

In addition to aforementioned countries, Amiga also exports its products to Greece, Luxembourg, Denmark, the countries of former SFRY, Russia and Azerbaijan...
