State Paying up to EUR 5,000 for Purchase of New Electric and Hybrid Cars – What New Decree on Subsidies for Ecological Vehicles Entails

The Government of Serbia recently adopted the Decree on the conditions and the manner of carrying out a subsidized purchase of new electric and hybrid vehicles.

The right to the subsidized purchase of vehicles belongs to legal persons, entrepreneurs and natural persons, except for taxi drivers who have already received subsidies for the purchase of new taxi vehicles.

The subsidies for the purchase of mopeds and light tricycles will be up to EUR 250, and for motorcycles, heavy tricycles, as well as light and heavy quadricycles – EUR 500.

For vehicles for the transport of persons with up to nine seats and for cargo vehicles whose mass does not exceed 3.7 tons, and which run on the electrical drive exclusively, state subsidies amount to up to EUR 5,000 in dinar countervalue at the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia on the day of the payment of the sales and purchase price.

The request for the subsidized purchase of a new vehicle may be filed to the Ministry of Environmental Protection until October 31, 2022.
