Taiwanese manufacturer of "smart" mobile phones HTC announced today that it would start selling the phones with the user interface in Serbian language by the end of the year.

HTC Manager for Serbia Snezana Rosic said on the occasion of the official entrance of that company to Serbian market that, in addition to the localized phones, HTC would also launch a website in Serbian language by the end of the year.

Rosic said at the press conference that, according to the unofficial data, HTC ranked second in Serbia in the size of "smart" phone market share.

HTC Regional Director for Southeast Europe Nikitas Gilkas said that the company had decided to officially enter the Serbian market due to big interest of the users in Serbia in HTC devices over the previous year.

He said that HTC was present in the Serbian market for two years and added that that company was the world's fourth largest manufacturer of "smart" phones, which represented a combination of a computer and a classical mobile phone.

- The company's aim is to get to the third place in that market segment prior to 2012 - said Glikas.

HTC's profit in the third quarter of this year amounted to 360 million dollars, which is nearly twice as much as in the same period in 2009.
