The promotion of the first international freight train, which will be operated between Paracin and Sezana by Cargo 10, the joint railway company of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, will be held on Monday.
- It is a train with 32 freight cars, which will be used for the transport of the wood briquettes, intended for the Italian market, from Paracin to Sezana - reads the statement of the Serbian Railways.
Every week one train will operate on this route, and the annual contract envisages the transport of 50,000 tons of aforementioned goods.
It will take the train 12 hours to reach Sezana from Paracin, which is about ten hours less than before.
As it was announced earlier, the headquarters of Cargo 10 will be in Ljubljana because Slovenia is a member of the European Union (EU), and the first train should leave the station in Ljubljana today at noon.
The joint railway company will have at its disposal 5% of all trains of the railway companies of all three countries.
The railway companies of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia will have the identical ownership shares in Cargo 10 and the profit will be shared in the same way.
The agreement on the formation of the joint railway company of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia was reached in late July 2010 in order for the transport of goods and passengers on pan-European Corridor 10 to be made more efficient, profitable and faster, that is, in order for the travel from Ljubljana to Istanbul to be shortened from current 57 to 35 hours.
