The Board of Directors of UniCredit Group has appointed Federico Ghizzoni, the former Head of the Group for central and east Europe, as the Director General.
According to the announcement published on the website of that international banking group, Ghizzoni was unanimously appointed as new CEO of the Group at the meeting of the Managing Board on September 30 in Warsaw.
Federico Ghizzoni replaced Alessandro Profumo in that position since the latter resigned from the post on September 21 because he lost the trust of the Board of Directors after the increase in the share of Libyan capital in that bank.
According to UniCredit Bank, which also operates in Serbia, Ghizzoni (55) joined the bank in 1980, at the time when it was called Credito Italiano, and had an important role in the development of branches of UniCredit Bank in central and east Europe.
UniCredit Group, with the headquarters in Italy, has banks in 22 European countries, including Serbia, 10,000 branch offices and about 162,000 employees.
