European donation worth about €130,000 for Caričin grad

Director of the National Museum in Leskovac, Veroljub Trajković, announced that European Agency for Reconstruction had approved €126,500 for organization and tourist representation of archeological location "Caričin grad" (Justinijana Prima) near Lebane. Trajković pointed out that that money would be used for design of study tht would define the next investment goals on that location from the 6th century.

The most important place in that study will be given to conservation and other aspects of preservation of several floor mosaics in `Caričin grad`, the biggest of which is the one in Donji grad (Lower city). It was discovered in 1950’s and it has not been conserved until today. With that study Leskovac-based National Museum will apply at European Agency for Reconstruction for additional €250,000.
