Novi Sad to Get Electric Buses – Loan Agreement Worth EUR 8 Million Signed

The loan agreement to the end of realization of the Project of procurement of up to ten low-floor electric buses with a connected charging infrastructure was signed by the mayor of Novi Sad, Milos Vucevic, and the regional director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Matteo Colangeli.


The project is being carried out as part of the EBRD Green Cities Program.

– The introduction of electric buses in the public transport of passengers is of great importance for Novi Sad. The public transport company “Novi Sad” published the tender for the purchase of the first 10 electric buses and the purchase of the accompanying infrastructure on November 4, the deadline for the submission of bids is January 4, 2022, whereas the delivery deadline period is 13 months. The EBRD will finance this purchase with a loan of EUR 8 million for a period of eight years, that is, with a two-year grace period and a six-year repayment period, with an interest rate of 1.1% – Vucevic said, according to the website of the City of Novi Sad.

Colangeli pointed out that the common goal was to preserve the environment and to create the conditions for a better life for people in cities.
