Steps Toward Preparation of Conditions for Construction of RHPP Djerdap 3 in Next Months

In the upcoming period, we can expect steps to be made toward the construction of the Reversible Hydro Power Plant Djerdap 3, the minister of mining and energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated while visiting Kladovo.

– In the past year, the ministry has made several important steps regarding the project of the construction of the hydro power plant Djerdap 3, but we must be quicker and more efficient – Mihajlovic told the press while visiting Kladovo, where 16 days of activism against violence toward women was marked.

– We have made a step into the energy transition. We have prepared an investment plan worth EUR 17 billion, which concerns investments in renewable energy sources, which also includes large hydro power plants. It is certain that more than EUR 10 billion should be invested. There is an American company that is interested in building Djerdap 3 – the minister said.

She points out that important decisions need to be made in the next several months, which pertain to the reviewing of the project-technical documentation, considering that it is very old, as well as all the other steps that are necessary.
