For better Chipsy taste - Marbo Product put up-to-date line for potato chips production in operation

Marbo Product, a member of PepsiCo, opened a new line for production of potato chips today at the factory in Backi Maglic. The world's state-of-the-arts technology worth 16 million euros will contribute to better taste of chips, while 100 people will be hired to work on the new production line.

In addition, the company has invested 4 million euros in a waste water treatment unit.

The new line is completely automated, which will reduce the influence of human factors on the quality of products. Potato chips will be packed in the state-of-the-art Polymount foil, which will ensure top-quality taste of chips with even more enduring freshness and guaranteed resistance to external factors.

- The production line that we open today represents the state-of-the-arts equipment of the kind at the moment and it is one of the most significant investments in domestic food sector. This production line is another confirmation of the long-term orientation of PepsiCo towards investments in continuous enhancement of quality of Marbo products, in our employees and the community we operate in, in Serbia and western Balkan - Alexei Mekhonoshin, the President of PepsiCo for Southeast Europe, said at the opening ceremony.

Vassilis Glinos, the Director General of PepsiCo for western Balkan and the Director General of Marbo Product, said that that investment would indirectly create 400 new jobs in the potato production and production unit maintenance sectors.

Production line PC32 was ceremoniously opened in the presence of the highest representatives of Marbo Product and PepsiCo, Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic, U.S. Ambassador Mary Warlick, business partners, and media.
