Renovation of complete sports infrastructure in Nis - Reconstruction of Cair hall commenced

Works on renovation of the sports hall in Cair Sports Center have commenced, and the works on reconstruction of the roof structure are currently underway. The works on the hall in Cair, of which value is 2.5 million euros, have been toured by Mayor Milos Simonovic and Miodrag Radovic, a member of the City Council.

Mayor Simonovic said that it was only the beginning of reconstruction of the sports hall, which would get a brand new look upon completion of the works, as well as additional 1,000 seats. All works will be carried out in phases so that matches, trade fairs and other manifestations can be held while the refurbishment is ongoing. Reconstruction of the hall also includes refurbishment of toilets and locker rooms, followed by interior and exterior works.

Once the works are finished, the sports hall in Cair will be ready for the biggest sports competitions. The Nis Mayor and city councilor Radovic have also visited the stadium in Cair, of which reconstruction is expected to start in late October.

They said that the Government of Serbia had given consent for reconstruction of the stadium in Cair and that once magnificent sports stadium would get back all the necessary conditions for organization of international sports competitions. Reconstruction of the stadium in Cair costs 9 million euros. Upon demolition, new stands will be built on the stadium - eastern, southern and western ones. The eastern stands alone will have 7,000 seats, while the capacity of the whole facility will be 17,000 people.

- After the adaptation, Cair will also get a new office space - it was announced during the tour of the sports facilities. With the construction of outdoor swimming pools and reconstruction of Cair hall, as well as complete reconstruction of the stadium in Car, Nis will obtain a unique sports complex. Through construction of all these facilities, Nis will renovate and finish construction of complete sports infrastructure. Over the previous year, after large number of world and European competitions, Nis has already proved it deserves to host big sports competitions.
