The state power company of North Macedonia, ESM, plans to build 1,000 MW of photovoltaic energy capacities in the long term as part of its strategy of moving the production of electrical energy to renewable sources.

The photovoltaic power plants are to be built either as a direct investment by ESM or as part of a public-private partnership.
