Slovenian company Gorenje is going to have a new factory built in Stara Pazova by the end of the year and employ 250 new workers in it.
The agreement on construction of the factory worth 11.5 million euros was signed today between Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic and member of Gorenje's Managing Board Branko Apat.
Gorenje owns two factories in Serbia - in Valjevo where it manufactures household appliances, and in Stara Pazova where it produces radiators and boilers.
- Dinkic said that Gorenje in Serbia had 500 employees at the moment and that it had the plan to employ another 500 by the end of 2010 - it is stated in the Ministry of Economy's announcement.
He said that the new factory in Stara Pazova would be finished by the end of the year and that the production would commence in January 2011.
- Gorenje annually exports goods worth about 50 million euros, and I believe that the value of exported goods will exceed EUR 100m within next year or two. Thanks to such companies, Serbia's export in the first seven months of this year grew by 20% - said Dinkic.
He said that the Government had supported creation of each new job in that company with EUR 4,000. So far, total of EUR 1m has been granted.
