– As they’ve done the Linear Park, Serbian architects will get the opportunity to design the subway stations as well. We want young Serbian architects to take part in the construction of the subway, the designing of the stations, because, this way, they will acquire references they can use in the world. Furthermore, each station will be different and tell the story of that part of the city or some event from the history of Serbia. Our subway will therefore be different, and not like some others in the world, where the stations are completely identical. When we get the preliminary designs, we will have the subway stations built by them – stated Vesic.
The procuring party is the City of Belgrade, the City Administration of Belgrade, that is, the Secretariat for Public Transport and the PUE Beogradski metro i voz,, in cooperation with the organizer of the contest, the Union of Architects of Serbia.
The contest will be public, open, anonymous, single-degree and survey-like for the preliminary architectural solution and design. The contest will soon be opened through the procuring party and the organizer of the contest.
