Strategic partnership negotiations between "Lekteks" from Leskovac with a company from Sydney

"Lekteks" is one of the biggest and oldest worsted companies in Serbia and Montenegro and in the Balkan region. Currently "Lekteks" is in the strategic partnership negotiations with the Australian company "Prim vul eksport" from Sydney with which they have had a succesfful co-operation for more than ten years.

In the previous contacts between the two companies, the company from Sydney implied the possibility of investing seven millions euros in the first phase of the "Lateks" capacities revitalization.

The company from Sydney also plans to revitalize the machine park and to introduce modern worsted technologies for the production of the product with vendibility on the world market.

The company from Sydney is also interested in the privatization of ready-wear company "Inkol", currently not working.

For a long period of time "Leteks" have had technical-technological problems. The company used to employ 2.500 workers and had 10-12 million dollars worth of export a year.

The crisis in "Leteks" started with the economic sanctions imposed on our contry which resulted in difficulties with raw materials purvey, market reduction and the inability to export products.

As the result of that the measures have been taken to improve the position of the factory by its restructuration based on the the Serbian Government project.
