The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, announced that the state is looking for a new partner for the investment in the plant, which will enable the citizens of Zrenjanin access to clean drinking water.

- We are currently working on a technical analysis of what needs to be additionally invested, whether by the City or a private partner, in the constructed water factory in Zrenjanin - said Brnabic.

Brnabic also said that the technical analysis will be conducted this week or the next one.

- We monitor the situation every day and we do not give up on delivering quality drinking water to the people of Zrenjanin - she pointed out.

Brnabic stated that the contract with the Gruppo Zillio consortium was terminated by Erste Bank, which credited the deal, because the investor failed to deliver water in accordance with the contract and the annex, which provided it more time to fulfill its obligations.

Residents of Zrenjanin have not had drinking water for over 17 years.
