The deputy prime minister and minister of agriculture, forestry and water management of Serbia, Branislav Nedimovic, pointed out during his visit to the agricultural properties in south Banat municipalities of Kovin and Bela Crkva that, in the preceding six months, Serbia had recorded agricultural and food industry exports worth EUR 1.98 billion.

After a talk with agriculturists in said municipalities, Nedimovic explained that this meant that the agricultural and food industry exports were higher by 13.9% compared to 2020, which was a record-setting year, as announced on the portal of the Government of Serbia.

He reminded that the export in 2010 amounted to close to RSD 1.08 billion, nearly two and a half times less than at that moment.

According to him, there are problems in the agricultural sector, primarily in the dairy and fattening cattle breeding industries, but these industries are trying to neutralize the negative effects in the market through state interventions.
