Nis Increasingly Popular Destination Among Tourists – Highlights of City in Serbia’s South Visited by 34,885 Guests This Year

The City of Nis was visited by 34,885 guests between January and July, of which 10,944 in July, as shown by the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

Official statistics also show that there were more foreign than local tourists in Nis in July.


Of the 10,944 guests, 7,802 came from abroad, whereas 3,142 were local guests.

In the first seven months overall, local guests were more numerous than foreign ones. Of the total of 34,885 guests, 18,162 were local guests, whereas 16,723 were foreign ones.

In Niska Banja, according to the official statistics, there were 365 guests in July and a total of 2,606 between January and July.

Among the spa guests, there were very few foreigners, only 33 in July and 119 in the first seven months.

The largest number of tourists in July in Serbia was recorded in Belgrade – 69,482. In Vrnjacka Banja, there were 36,457, in Sokobanja, there were 27,001 and on Zlatibor 23,008.

The official statistics show that Serbia had the most visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 11,925, but tourists from India had the highest number of overnight stays.
