Ericsson to Open 5G Development Center in Belgrade

Ericsson has announced the opening of the new Digital Services Service Delivery (DSSD) Center in Belgrade, which, as pointed out, will contribute to the development of the 5G technology in Serbia.

As emphasized, the center will focus on network virtualization and 5G networks developed based on the cloud technology, which will strengthen the global 5G ecosystem, leaning on the existing cooperation that Ericsson has with Serbian mobile operators.

It is specified that the new employees at the DSSD central will work on the most advanced, most modern technologies for 5G networks, such as the virtualization of network functions, application and infrastructure developed on the cloud technology, network automation and artificial intelligence, for Ericsson’s clients not just in Serbia, but also throughout Europe and Latin America.

Antonio Passarella, Country Manager at Ericsson Serbia, said that the 5G technology was a unique platform for open innovations, which is expected to stimulate the Serbian economy and global competitiveness.

– It can draw more long-term investments in the country and to act as an additional driving engine in the future for the increasingly developed digital economy. The DSSD center is arriving at the right moment, because it will play the key role in the accelerated adoption of the 5G technology in Serbia and beyond – he said and added that it was another confirmation of the long-term commitment and continuous investments by the company in supporting the young staff and expanding digital skills.
