Serbia Has 140 Media More Than Last Year – Internet Portals Multiplying

In the first six months of the current year, the number of media in Serbia increased 5.7%. The most numerous among them are newly registered independent electronic editions of internet portals, as many as 128, as well as editorially-supervised web pages, nine in total, according to the data published by the Business Registers Agency.

Dailies and periodicals reached the number of 941 issues, and there are 335 radio stations and 243 TV stations.

As for independent electronic editions, there are 850 internet portals and 89 editorially-supervised web pages.

News agency services are provided by 27 media houses, whereas 123 companies belong to the categories of “others” and “the undefined”.

In total, 2,608 media of various forms are registered.

Observed by year, in 2018, a total of 2,146 media were registered. The number increased to 2,334 in 2019, reached 2,468 last year, and then increased by a total of 140 media this year.
