Imlek and Subotica Dairy abused their position in purchase of milk

The Commission for Protection of Competition has confirmed the abuse of dominant position by the Subotica Dairy and Belgrade-based dairy industry Imlek in the purchase of milk in Serbia. This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture on August 13th.

Upon receiving the notice, the Commission for Protection of Competition informed the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Power Engineering on August 11th that the abuse of dominant position by the Subotica Dairy and Belgrade-based Imlek in the purchase of raw milk in Serbia had been confirmed on the basis of the decision the Commission adopted on May 22th, 2009.

A complaint lodged against that decision has initiated the ongoing administrative dispute.

The Ministry of Agriculture pointed out that the Commission for Protection of Competition should carefully monitor the milk market while waiting for the verdict by the Administrative Court.
