Ten days of madness - 50th Trumpet Fair in Guca starts today

The jubilee 50th Dragacevo Trumpet Fair in Guca starts today (August 13, 2010) and it will last until August 22nd. The even will gather 2,000 musicians, 400 of whom from abroad.

The Trumpet Fair will be opened by Serbian Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic, and the organizers expect few hundred thousand visitors.

Adam Tadic, the Director of the Cultural Center in Guca, explains what will make this year's manifestation different from all previous ones.

- For the first time ever, we are organizing an international contest of trumpet bands. Total of 15 bands from 13 countries will be competing this year: bands from America, Russia, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Macedonia, etc. - says Tadic.

He explains that this year's jubilee 50th Trumpet Fair will last for 10 days, unlike the previous ones that lasted for five days.

Tadic also says that one of the guests will be a professional trumpet band from London, while the bands from Poland and Turkey, which specialized in playing Serbian folk music, are expected to be particularly interesting to the visitors.

Adam Tadic says that the first visitors have already arrived in Guca.
