The Russian Nordwind Airlines plans to introduce a weekly line between Rostov-on-Don and Belgrade from September 16, 2021.

Tickets are already available, but the flights are subject to approval by regulatory organs, as reported by the Jumbo agency website. The Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia previously did not issue permits to S7 Airlines and Ural Airlines for flights between Moscow and Belgrade, in line with the restrictive bilateral agreement on air services which was signed between the two states.

Nordwind Airlines already maintains flights from Moscow and Saint Petersburg to Belgrade, both launched this year. If the service from Rostov-on-Don is implemented as planned, it will compete directly with Air Serbia, which launched flights on this route in June 2021.
