New classification of activities of all registered economic entities from August 12th

- The Business Registers Agency (BRA) announced today (August 10, 2010) that the application of the Law on classification of activities had commenced after the Regulation on classification of activities had been put in effect. Based on that Law, the BRA is legally obliged to bring classification of economic activities in accord with the one applied in the EU - it is stated on the website of the Government of Serbia.

The Business Registers Agency will start applying new classification of activities on Thursday, August 12th.

In accordance with the new law, BRA is obliged to classify all registered units by their predominant activities, as well as to publish that information on its Internet site (www.apr.gov.rs).

BRA will make these changes on the basis of the data obtained from the Statistics Institute and in accordance with the Data Exchange Protocol signed between these two institutions.

The information on codes and description of activities will be changed automatically, so that it is necessary that all economic entities and other juristic and physical persons registered with BRA get familiar with the information on new code and description of predominant activity by visiting the website of the agency.

If economic entities and other juristic and physical persons find that the new codes and descriptions of predominant activity do not match their real predominant activities, they can submit request for classification under a different code and description of predominant activity, but only within the branch that group of activities belongs to.

Browsing of the activities that entities can change will be made possible via special service on the website of BRA.

Just like before, the branch of economic activity will be changed on the basis of the submitted registration form and required documentation, with the payment of certain fee.
