Within the scope of the Serbian-Hungarian cross-border cooperation programme, the municipality of Kanjiža applied for the funds from the EU's IPA Programme for implementation of 11 projects, 7 of which, worth 1.94 million euros, have been approved.

Of that amount, the programme participants from the municipality of Kanjiza will have EUR 565,000 at their disposal, while the remaining funds will be spent on realization of the projects of Hungarian partners.

The Mayor of Kanjiza, Mihalj Njilas, and the Director of the Kanjiza Info Center for the Potisje Region Development (ICR), Robert Fejstamer, pointed out that the approved projects made the municipality of Kanjiza one of the most successful in Serbia among those that applied for the funds from the IPA cross-border cooperation programme.

Realization of the projects will take between 12 and 16 months.
