More than 6,500 companies that took part in the first phase of the My First Salary 2020 program will secure full employment for the young people who went through the nine-month training at companies, stated Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS). He added that the realization of the program would continue, the CCIS announced.

At the presentation of the results of the first phase of the program at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, he said that over a third of the companies had provided an additional fee to the young people during the program, on top of the amount that the government provided.

– The program enabled the economy to employ young workers. Around ten thousand companies opened job contests and around 8,500 young people are taking part in the program. Two thirds of the companies say that they will give full employment to people within the program – Cadez said.

He says that there are talks with the Government of Serbia about upgrading the My First Salary program and enhancing the contribution of the employers.

In August 2020, the Government of Serbia adopted the Decree on the My First Salary Program as an incentive for the employment of young people.
